About Jason

Jason M. Rubin is an experienced writer who has worked in both corporate and agency settings, as well as doing freelance writing and journalism on the side. His first novel, The Grave and the Gay, was published in 2012. Prior to that, he wrote a family activity guide, Lots to Know. Lots to Do., for the Children’s Museum Boston.

 

From 2000-2024, Jason did award-winning work* as a senior member of Libretto Inc., a Boston-based strategic messaging and content development firm (see samples to the left). He also was a key contributor at such respected organizations as WGBH, Deloitte & Touche, and Cabot Corporation. Jason has written web content, campaign case statements, product brochures, white papers, direct mail packages, ads, articles, scripts, and speeches. He also has conceived names, themes, and taglines for companies, products, development campaigns, and special events.

 

Jason is a regular music contributor to the Arts Fuse, a regional online arts magazine, and is a member of the New England Indie Authors Collective (NEIAC). He teaches workshops on The Joy of Journaling and holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (1985).

In 1999 and 2000, Jason wrote and co-wrote three episodes of Sound & Spirit, a weekly series of hour-long radio programs exploring the human spirit through music and ideas. The series was produced by WGBH and Public Radio International, and created and hosted by Ellen Kushner.
